Ways to combat brittle bones

My binatang peliharaan. * "eh awak, kita pun ada lembu gak la. takyah la nak eksen. tengok, kaler putih lagi... hikhik!" ;P *

"Ni yang paling mahal sekali sebab ada 'dollar' sign.. kehkeh!!"

Haha! Sebenarnya arini nak share info yang ada kena-mengena dengan lembu.

" How to get calsium without drinking milk."

Some people don't consume enuf dairy product to get enuf calsium for some different reasons. For example, dieters for sure shun dairy hi-fat (it's me..). some people simply don't like the taste of milk (yeah, it's me again..). And yet others are lactose intolerant, which means their bodies have a hard times digesting dairy foods (ha, luckily d last one not me.. :P).

According to medical and technical advisor, it is unnecessary for the "dairy deserters" for destined to a life of brittle bones. Sebab dalam dunia ni there are many sources of dietary calcium. Let me share wif u some non-dairy AND calcium-rich options.

1. orange juice ~ this is a wonderful alternative for a people who simply don't like milk because it is fortified to the same extent.

2. Beans ~ kidney and pinto head the list and for the adventurous, tofu is calcium and protein rich.

3. Brokoli ~ yet another good reason to munch a few stalks - preferably in the raw.

4. Nuts ~ hazelnut, brazil nuts and almonds are among the best choices.

5. Fruit ~ prunes are very hi in calcium.

6. Leafy greens ~ The exeption, spinach. The calcium in spinach is not readily available to the body.

7. Sardines ~ salmon is also good source of vitamin D. *Vitamin D = facilitates the absorption of calcium.*

And for the lactose intolerant, u shouldn't have a problem wif these 2 dairy products;

8. Yogurt ~ the lactose or sugar in yogurt has already been broken down so your digestive system won't have to do it. Substitute yogurt for sour cream in recipies.

9. Hard cheese ~ the lactose breaks down during the aging process.

I would say that eventhou some of us can't enjoy dairy foods ( poor u :( )... doesn't mean that they can't get strong bones and can't stay healthy. The important thing is be responsible by giving our body all the calsium it needs. When u don't, it takes the bone-building mineral rite form the reserves in the bones WHICH LEADS TO THE BREAKDOWN OF THE BONE STRUCTURE. Guys out there, yes i know u've got an advantage.. more bones at most sites rather than females do.. but no, no, no.. u can't ignore calsium tau!! So people, lets building strong bones to prevent fractures and other complications later. Must win the war against brittle bones!! Yeaa!!

Rasa macam nutritionist pulak sekejap. Ahaks!

daging lembu memang makanan kegemaran umat islam di Malaysia.
Walaupun kita tak mengenali apa isi hati lembu2 ini, sekurang-kurangnya kita tahu ia adalah makanan yang halal untuk dimakan.
